Does Holiday Shopping Threaten Data?

Every year, shopping malls see a spike in the amount of wireless devices turned in to their lost and found departments around popular shopping days like Black Friday and pre-holiday weekends.

A mall survey revealed some surprising statistics:

92% of all wireless devices left in malls were smartphones or tablets
On average, 68% of items retrieved were never claimed
60% of lost items were recovered from food courts
